Brews to keep our parks beautiful! Proudly supporting the Cleveland Metroparks!
Fat Head’s is a longtime partner of the Cleveland Metroparks and it is the largest donor to the parks’ Trails Fund. Dedicated to protecting nature, connecting communities and inspiring conservation of our world, the Cleveland Metroparks is a Northeast Ohio treasure boasting 18 reservations spanning more than 25,000 acres with more than 325 miles of trails, nine golf courses, eight lakefront parks and a nationally-acclaimed zoo.
An avid cyclist, our master brewer Matt Cole and the Fat Head’s family have been raising funds to help the Cleveland Metroparks in their mission of conservation, education, recreation, and the restoration of local bike trails since 2010.
Fat Head’s is now in its second decade of brewing co-branded beers with the Metroparks, first with Trail Head Pale Ale, then followed in the spring of 2024 by Leaf Man Lager. A portion of proceeds from the sales of Leaf Man Lager continues to benefit both the Trails Fund and the Metroparks clean water initiatives.
The Cleveland Metroparks Trail Fund supports trail volunteer programs, staff training, specialized equipment purchases, maintenance and amenities and your favorite trails.
“The Cleveland Metroparks is a local treasure that is important we don’t ever take for granted,” said Cole. “Our trails are great rides, I can personally attest to that. They are a great escape and a good way to reconnect and recharge, so it’s really important that we take care of them and keep them in good shape for people to continue to enjoy.”
In 2019, Matt Cole and Fat Head’s Brewery was nominated for a National Parks and Recreation award for its financial support of the park district.
